I’ve asked both of our MAPS docs if they thought our son had thyroid issue but I’m pretty certain he does and so do I. I do believe my new MAPs doc will test if I push it though. Can you tell me exactly which test I should request to run?

My daughter suffered multiple allergies and had elevated TSH, about 11+. She also had some eczema. Once I balanced her immune system, all her allergies disappeared and her TSH levels dropped to normal range. The immune system can also be a culprit, just like it responsible for irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes etc. TSH levels are high because the thyroid is not functioning optimally, it is supposed to take the TSH and make T4, as far as I know. You need to boost glutathione levels to balance the immune system successfully. You need sterols and sterolins (immune modulator), look for a product called Moducare. Also add immune supporting vitamins like probiotics, omega 3, selenium, magnesium, zinc, vitD. Add b-complex, b6 is one of the items needed for absorption. I think that is all of it. It can take up to 3 months to do the job. Speak to a naturopath (not a homeopath) first before proceeding on this. According to the bottle, the child needs to be 5 years old, if not, you get items on the market that is more organic formulated.

Hi I came across this and it has peaked my interest. My 3 year old daughter has had puffy under eyes for as long as I can remember and also has pretty bad eczema that we thought was related to gluten intolerance but cutting that out seems to not be helps as much this winter. She goes in for a check up with her regular doc in the next month what should I ask them to check? Just TSH? She currently doesn’t take any supplements.

If I may, seeing I’ve been there. For my daughter, the usual soap and hair shampoo made things worse, that was years ago off course, what we used was Elizabeth Ann products and dove soap. Can also be the soap used to wash clothing. I believe using zinc are good for the skin if memory serves me right. Hope things get better.

    HI Kimberly,

I have also noticed that my son has puffy eyes. it is totally different from allergy swelling under his eye (which he might also get once in a while). But interestingly enough his Iodine levels are very high (actually off the chart high). I mentioned this to our homeopath but she thought nothing of it……

Thanks Kimberly, I am in the UK but as far as I understand Dr Catanzaro can consult via Skype. I will definitely get in touch with him.

My daughter is almost 12. She has always had puffy eyes and circles under them often. No medical professional ever suggested that it isn’t norma; and She has had more than her share of respiratory issues. It is blamed on allergies. Could be. It made sense, since we live in a 100 year old house. Now i’m wondering??. She does not have the energy level or endurance or drive that most kids have. Ive always said she is reserved. ???? When she was a baby my friends envied her long and frequent naps. Three a day if i let her and she slept through the night, would sleep a minimum of 12 hours a day even as a 3 year old. Took naps at four, her idea. This is very interesting. So glad I found this. Something to investigate
